What’s the job?

As a key player in our team, you’ll leverage your deep understanding of big data processing and optimization techniques. Your role will involve designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable PostgreSQL databases, delivering high-performance solutions for handling vast amounts of data.

Your portfolio will also include backup support for our existing DevOps Engineer, building and maintaining robust data pipelines, and ensuring data integrity at all times.

Big Data Engineer – Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable PostgreSQL databases to process large data volumes.
• Enhance database performance through strategic analysis, query tuning, and indexing.
• Develop and implement ETL processes for seamless data integration from various sources.
• Collaborate with development teams to design effective data models and schemas.
• Monitor and troubleshoot database performance issues, providing expert solutions for improvements.
• Stay abreast of the latest PostgreSQL features and best practices to guide our team.

What We’re Looking For:

• Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience with PostgreSQL databases, including performance optimization and query tuning.
• Proficiency in big data processing technologies (Hadoop, Spark, etc.), SQL, and NoSQL databases.
• Experience with ETL processes, data integration, and data pipeline construction.
• Strong programming skills in Python or other relevant languages.
• Fluency in English or French, with a basic understanding of the other language.
